Few hours after the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, a new Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Nasiha, has been screened by the state’s House of Assembly as his replacement.

Stonix News reports that Nasiha is a serving Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District at the state assembly.
He also served as the interim state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) before a substantive chairman was appointed.
Preparations for the swearing-in of the new Deputy Governor is in top gear as of the time of filing the report.
The nomination was made by Governor Bello Matawalle and was announced by the speaker of the House of Assembly, Nasiru Mua’zu at Wednesday’s resumed plenary.
He read a letter from Matawalle nominating Senator Nasiha as the deputy governor, hours after Mahdi Aliyu-Gusau was impeached.
