Wales International Announces Retirement At Age 33

Wales International and former Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale, has officially announced his retirement from football at age 33.

His decision to retire from the world of football was made public via his verified social media handles on Monday, 9th of January.

“After careful and thoughtful consideration, I announce my immediate retirement from Club and International football.

“My decision to retire from International football has been by far the hardest of my career.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have realised my dream of playing the sport I love. It has truly given me some of the best moments of my life,” part of the statement reads.

The Wales International record goal scorer of 41 goals in 111 appearances for his nation, started his professional career in England where he played for Southampton Football Club; Tottenham Hotspur; he later secured a move to Spanish side, Real Madrid, and then, Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), where he has officially retired.

Gareth Bale, the Wales national team captain scored a total number of 226 goals in 664 appearances.
