Warri NMDPRA Boss Urges Staff To Sustain Peace, Harmony

THE outgoing Delta State Coordinator of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr. Victor Ohwodiasa, has urged staff of the Warri Field Office to continue to uphold peace and harmony in the workplace.

Ohwodiasa, who now serves as the South-South Regional Coordinator of the Authority, gave the advice during a send-off ceremony organised in his honour by the NMDPRA on Thursday in Warri, Delta State.

In his farewell address, he noted that a peaceful working environment enhances productivity and longevity.
“We should continue to live in peace and harmony, because when we are happy, our lives are prolonged and, by implication, productivity increases,” he stated.
Reflecting on his tenure, Ohwodiasa attributed his achievements as State Coordinator to the maximum cooperation he received from both NMDPRA staff and industry operators. He therefore appealed to them to extend the same level of support to his successor, Engr. Godwin Ikomi.
Describing the event as unprecedented, he said such a gesture had never taken place before in the Warri office.

“I spent 1,105 days as Delta State Coordinator of NMDPRA, and it was indeed a remarkable period. I enjoyed a cordial working relationship with both staff and operators. Whatever successes I recorded were largely due to the internal and external support I received.
“I urge you to extend the same cooperation to my successor, Chief Ikomi, because his success is also mine,” he added.
According to him, his desire has always been for his successors to perform even better, as he strives to lay a solid foundation for them to build upon.
“As the South-South Regional Coordinator of NMDPRA, I still oversee Delta State. Wherever I’ve worked, if the office performs well, it remains a credit to me. So, I urge you to support Ikomi even more than you did for me,” he said.
While acknowledging the challenges faced during his tenure, Ohwodiasa said he overcame them by the grace of God. He also expressed gratitude to Mr Benjamin Ogunobi, the Regional Coordinator of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), for his constant hospitality and cooperation, urging him to extend the same support to the new State Coordinator.
In his remarks, Engr. Ikomi recalled his long-standing cordial relationship with Ohwodiasa, describing their association as one built on shared ideals and organisational principles.
Similarly, Mr Ogunobi commended the outgoing coordinator for his professionalism and promised to sustain the collaboration with the new leadership.
“I had a memorable working experience with Engr. Ohwodiasa in this building. The same support and fellowship I extended to him, I will also give to Engr. Ikomi,” he assured.
Speaking on behalf of the Ohwodiasa family, Chief Ebenezer Okorodudu, Executive Director of Projects at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), thanked the organisers for honouring the outgoing coordinator.

The event was attended by staff of the NMDPRA Warri Office, members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and petroleum marketers from Port Harcourt.
