18 Suspected Kidnappers Arrested In Benue

NO fewer than 18 Suspected kidnappers have been arrested by operatives of the Benue State Police Command.

Stonix News reports that they were arrested at Ado Local Government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Wale Abbas, disclosed the arrest in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP. Catherine Anene, and made available to journalists in Makurdi.

The commissioner explained that the suspected kidnappers were trying to bypass police checkpoints at Utonkon road, Ado Local Government Area on Sunday at about 7:30p.m.

He said officers deployed to the area in collaboration with members of the community were able to intercept and arrest the all-male 18 suspects.

He said further investigation was ongoing, adding that one AK-47 rifle and two magazines loaded with 30 rounds of 6.72mm live ammunition were recovered from the hoodlums.
