Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting
THERE’S said to be some awkward jubilation on Tuesday as the report of the sudden death of the vice chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State filtered into the air.
Young Daniel Ighedo, popularly known as ‘Danray,’ was said to have slumped and died on Tuesday morning.
Sources said the Ekpan-born politician died of cardiac arrest after slumping at Effurun and was rushed to a private hospital in Warri where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
According to Niger Delta Today, the Uvwie vice chairman had earlier been ostracised by the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Abe 1, over the crisis rocking the appointment of the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to a company (possibly an oil company) in the area.
He was also said to have called for the quizzing and possible arrest of the Uvwie monarch in a petition to the Delta State Police Command.
Perhaps for his alleged desecration of the royal stool, scores of Uvwie natives at Ekpan were said to have stormed the streets rejoicing over the sudden demise of the young man.
No official statement as regards the demise of the politician has been released from any quarters
