A Northern California man, Dustin Porcita, had his home and cars burnt down by what he describes as “a flaming basketball” falling from the sky on Friday, 5th of November.
According to reports, Porcita, with his 2 dogs were in his home on Englebright Dam Road which was about 60 miles northeast of Sacramento, when the incident happened.
Porcita, although having lost his dog in the incident, considered himself lucky after escaping death by a whisker
“Definitely feel very lucky that it was 30 feet away from me and not five. They said it’s a one in four trillion chance, so I guess I might be buying a lottery ticket today,” he told reporters.
Prior to the incident, a video footage of meteors falling from the sky in that area, according to other reports and eyewitnesses in the neighbourhood, may have been the cause of fire.
Further investigations are still ongoing, to uncover what may have led to the blast
