The man who leaped at a judge over the bench while waiting to be sentenced has been charged with attempted murder in the Nevada courtroom attack.
Stonix News reported that Deobra Delone Redden, 30, on Jan. 3, 2024, was accused of battery on a protected person, extortion by threat and intimidating a public officer when he vaulted over a defense table, dived across the judge’s bench and landed a heavy punch, slamming her head against a wall and pulling out hair.

After the attack, Judge Mary Kay Holthus was treated for injuries on site after she hid under a desk as court officials brawled with Redden.

According to court document, Redden confessed saying he wanted to killed the judge which led to the attack, adding that he was having a really bad day.
Reacting to attack, Chief Judge Jerry Wiese described Redden’s action as supermanning over a judicial bench, calling it an unprecedented behavior.
