A popular socialite and businessman in Ondo State, Sesan Adelabu, has reportedly hacked his wife to death and drank sniper in his house in Akure, the state capital.
Amid sketchy details, he was said to have met his wife in a sex romp in their matrimonial bed with one of his security guards.
Stonix News gathered that the tragic event occurred Friday night at Adelabu’s residence in Alagbaka GRA in Akure metropolis.
Consumed by rage, Adelabu, popularly called Emirate,was said to have used a sharp machete (popularly called Pano in Yoruba) generously on his wife before taking the next action.
As gathered, after hacking his wife to death, he also ingested the suicidal insecticide popularly called sniper.
Stonix News reports that Sniper Insecticide is an “insecticide and miticide containing the active ingredient Bifenthrin. It can be applied on plant foliage and soil to treat for plant-destroying pests.”
It could not be ascertained what became the lot of the randy guard who was caught eating another man’s roasted yam.
Police orderlies attached to the business man found Adelabu’s wife’s lifeless body on their matrimonial bed, while the socialite was found dead inside his bathroom.
Remains of the couple have been reportedly deposited at the Akure General Hospital.
Adelabu is said to have a chain of businesses, including petrol stations in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Confirming the incident, the state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, said that the socialite murdered his wife and subsequently committed suicide by ingesting sniper.
She added that police detectives have commenced investigation into the matter.
The statement, issued by the police command, explained that the lifeless body of the deceased was discovered by the policeman attached to the deceased.
The statement read, “The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abayomi Oladipo, has ordered the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case of alleged murder and suicide of a socialite and petrol station owner, Mr Sesan Adelabu, popularly known as Emirate, and his wife, Mrs Bolu Adelabu.
“On the 9th of February, 2024, a distress call was received by the police of A’ Division Akure, by men of Special Protection Unit.
“The officer attached to the deceased in his house at Alagbaka area in Akure, received a call from the deceased child around 6pm asking after his father, because he was not picking his calls.
“The policeman, while trying to inform his principal, discovered him faced down and lifeless in the toilet while his wife’s body was found on the bed with multiple cuts suspected to be machete cuts on her head and face.
“An empty container of an insecticide was also found at the scene. Investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incident and scene cordoned off to enable police to do the needful please.”
