Police Rescue Three From Abuja Collapsed Building


OPERATIVES of the FCT Police Command have rescued three victims from the the rubble of a building that collapsed late Monday evening.

the building collapses at about 8:40pm at Unity House, Area 11 by Nkwere Street, Abuja.

“The FCT Police Command hereby confirms that yesterday, July 1, 2024, at about 8:40 p.m., there was a building collapse at Unity House, Area 11 by Nkwere Street.

“In response to the distress call, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, promptly moved to the scene with multiple patrol teams as first responders to cordon off the area for possible rescue.

“Three (3) victims were successfully evacuated from the collapsed building and rushed to the hospital for medical care,” she noted without giving details of the identity of the victims.

Adeh further disclosed that “the attention of the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria and FCT Development Control have been drawn to the situation, and their personnel have taken charge of the area for robust management of the scene.

“Further developments will be appropriately communicated in due course.”
