THE Okpanam community in Delta State has turned to its ancestral spirits to exert revenge for the attacks on the community last Sunday which left three police officers dead and vigilante men injured.
The Ugo Ani of Okpanam, Dr Michael Ogbolu, led other chiefs and indigenes of the community to the “Ishu Ani Okpam’’ shrine where lethal curses were laid on the perpetrators of the attack.
Prior to Sunday’s attack by unknown gunmen, the Ugo Ani affirmed that the community was known for being peaceful.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Dr. Ogbolu said that community insiders, who knew the masterminds of the attack, would also not go unpunished.
“Before such attack can be successful, there must be an insider.
“We are laying more curses on anyone who had a hand or knew anything about the attack and never informed security agencies about it,’’ Dr Ogbolu said.
