Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo, has ordered the Provost Marshall of the command to try the policemen brutalising a civilian over alleged expired vehicle particulars.
The erring officers facing sanction are Inspector Agip Teiwei and Inspector Bedford Emolade, while ASP Peter Frank is said to have been queried already.
CP Okolo gave the order on Tuesday in a statement made available to Stonix News by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Asinim Butswat, on Tuesday.
Stonix News reports that the three policemen were spotted in a viral video attacking a civilian with a stick over expired vehicle particulars, on Monday September 26, 2022, at Akenfa, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
“Orderly room trial has commenced for Inspector Agip Teiwei and Inspector Bedford Emolade, while ASP Peter Frank has been queried.
“The Nigeria Police Force is a disciplined organization and Bayelsa State Command cannot condone any act of indiscipline by its officers,” CP Okolo warned.
