A week after he was released from kidnappers’ den, Managing Director of Ekwulobia Urban Mass Transport Company Ltd in Anambra State, Chief Innocent Ezeokafor, has died.
Stonix News gathered on Sunday that Ezeokafor died at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.
A scoop from his company’s headquarters at Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of the state that the transporter was abducted on October 19, 2022.
He was, however, left off the hook last week after spending 18 days in captivity.
His health was said to have begun to fail while in captivity and became complicated on Saturday.
He was was said to have been rushed to the teaching hospital where he later died.
No reaction has emanated from the family as regards the death as of the time of filing the report.
Recall that Chief Ezeokafor was abducted at about 7:00p.m on Wednesday, October 19, in front of his house, along Umuezeudu Street, Umuowele-Umuchi, Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The gunmen reportedly stormed his house in a Sienna car and pretended to be people waiting for passengers alighting from Ekwulobia Urban Mass bus.
The abductors, thereafter, shot sporadically into the air before capturing and whisking away their victim.
