Boko Haram/ISWAP rain rockets on buildings in Maiduguri

Suspected elements of Boko Haram/ISWAP, early Saturday morning, rained rockets on some buildings in Maiduguri, Bornu State capital.

No fewer than three buildings were reportedly hit by the rockets.

One the rockets landed on two houses in Ngomari Airport ward, however, but no life was lost.

The attack reportedly came at around 6:00a.m on Saturday, as
the three buildings were among a 1, 000 housing units.

A resident, Malam Bukar, whose house was destroyed by the rockets described to journalists what transpired.

“I came from the mosque, then I was slumbering, so I heard a an explosion.

“I was terrified, then my wife was screaming for help but thank God nothing bad happened to her,” he narrated.

Another resident Ali Ibrahim said corroborated the claim of Bukar.

He said: “When I heard the sound of the first explosion, I rushed out of my house to know what was happening.

“Then the second one exploded close to my compound, on my way rushing inside, I saw the third rocket with my eyes.

“I had to lie down, its from there I concluded that it was an attack.”

Authorities are yet to confirm the Saturday incidents and no individual or group has claimed responsibility of the attacks.
