Eight days to her wedding, an about-to-wed bride and two others, including a Special Adviser to the Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area chairman, have been abducted along Ageva – Magongo road of Kogi State.
Stonix News (NS) exclusively gathered that their vehicle reportedly ran into the waiting hands of their abductors around 9:00p.m on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at a spot between Ageva and Magongo.
The bride, Deborah Ijese Afolabi, is billed for her engagement and registry wedding with her heartthrob, Augustin Alariogun Ibrahim, 10:00a.m on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2021 at Ogori, Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of the state.
A relative of the bride, Pastor Flourish Atoju, who’s the Founder and General Overseer of Spring of Grace Assembly, informed our correspondent on Friday night that the kidnappers had contacted the family, demanding N10 million on each of the three victims.
Atoju, a former pastor at Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), who first broke the news on his Facebook page Friday evening, said “I was just informed about the kidnap of my younger one, Deborah Ijese Afolabi, on her way from Okene to Ogori last night.
“Her wedding comes up on the 24th, next week. I want to put the authorities on notice for their safe return.
“It happened last night at about 9:00p.m, I was told. The kidnappers are demanding N30 million from the families – N10m for each person.”
When Stonix News (NS) asked if the police authorities had been informed, he responded to the affirmative, adding that “the vehicle they were travelling in has been packed at the police station in Ogori as we speak.”
The pastor further disclosed that members of the Ogori community are already going round to raise the ransom.
Meanwhile, it was also gathered that chairman of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area, Mr Goke Oparison, has been working round the clock to ensure the safe return of the bride and the two others.
The SA to the local government chairman among the three kidnapped was simply identified as Seun.
Reactions from the police authorities were not forthcoming as of the time of filing the report.
