Delta LG Councillor Shot Along Notorious Eku-Abraka On December 4 Is Dead

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

After much battle to save him from pellets pumped into his abdomen by suspected kidnappers, the councillor representing Ward 5 in the Ethiope East Legislative Arm, Hon Jude Adjekpovu, is dead.

His assailants were suspected Fulani herdsmen who waylaid and shot him along the now notorious Eku-Abraka Road.

Doctors were said to have battled for his life in an undisclosed private hospital before his eventual death.

Stonix News had reported that Adjekpovu was shot on Saturday, December 4, 2021 by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

Several pellets from the marauders, who barricaded the road at about 5:30p.m, according to sources, were fired into the victims car.

Some of the pellets, sources added, were lodged in his abdomen, making his chances to live again, very slim.

Stonix News had reported that in the last one week, no fewer than 10 persons, including four final year students of DELSU and chairman of private school owners and his wife were kidnapped separately.

While four of the final year students have breathed the air of freedom, Deacon Monday Ifoghere and his wife are still in the gulag of their tormentors.

As a result, residents of the area have appealed to the Delta State government to address the incessant abduction of persons on the road.

Although the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe could not be reached immediately for confirmation, Chairman of the local government area, Mr Victor Ofobrukueta, has, however, called for calm.

He said the government and security agents were handling the situation.
