Paramedics and police patrol were reportedly parked outside of Hogan’s home on Thursday morning.
Hogan was wheeled out of his home on a stretcher and into an ambulance, TMZ reported.
Clearwater police did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The U.S. Sun.
The wrestling icon’s cause of death has not been officially disclosed.
Hogan’s ailing health had been widely reported in the weeks leading up to his death, including rumours that he was on his “deathbed” and in a coma.
However, Hogan’s wife, Sky, quickly quashed the reports, stating his heart was “strong” and he was recovering from a neck procedure.
Hogan became a larger than life figure during the 1980s, soaring to new heights while apart of Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Entertainment, then the World Wrestling Federation.
