THE 10th Eleme Legislative Assembly of the Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State has held its first sitting on Monday after the burning down of the main secretariat buildings.
The session was presided over by the Leader, Hon. Benjamin Sanwi, and was witnessed by the Chairman of the local government, Chief Brain Gokpa, and other guests.

Sanwi described the burning down of the secretariat as an embarrassment and directed the security agencies to go after the arsonists.
He also said the assembly gave the chairman the mandate to source funds to rehabilitate the burnt secretariat.
After announcing a reshuffle of the principal officers, the leader adjourned the session.
The reshuffle saw the former deputy leader, Hon. Humphrey Dada Obele becoming the Chief Whip, while Hon. Martha Adeya becoming the new deputy leader.
