Story That Touches The Heart

Hotelier Beats To Death Security Guard Accused of Stealing Phones

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

The Chief Executive Officer of Noble Ocean Hotel in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Noble Iteme, has allegedly beaten to death his security guard for allegedly stealing phones.

The security guard, Godstime Sunday, was clubbed and macheted in the head by the hotelier ably assisted by a few others in the hotel premises.

Sources said the offence of the security guard, aged 31, was that he was absent when some armed robbers allegedly invaded the hotel.

His absence, it was gathered, created some suspicions that he might be in the know of the armed robbery operation.

He was, therefore, grilled by the hotelier and his boys, just as the security guard couldn’t allegedly explain his whereabouts when the robbers allegedly invaded the hotel.

The hotelier then ordered that the guard be beaten up, perhaps to confess, when he was unable to give a genuine reason for his absence.

In no time, the 31-year-old guard sustained some machete cuts in his head and began to bleed.

Upon noticing that the security guard was bleeding profusely, the hotelier, on a second thought, quickly contacted the police to come and arrest the guard.

Stonix News gathered that before the arrival of the police operatives, Sunday had bled to death.

So, the hotelier, who called the attention of the police, was subsequently arrested for alleged murder.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.

He said that the deceased died of machete wounds which he sustained in the head while he was being battered with a machete.

“He was accused of stealing handsets in the hotel. While they were trying to make him confess, he was beaten to a pulp with machete cuts on his head. He died in the hospital.

“The hotel owner was arrested on the strength of his being the one that initiated the attack on the boy.

“The hotel owner is presently at the State CID in Asaba,” he noted.
