It Was A Hard Fight, Szoboszlai On The Reds’ Victory Away From Home To Sheffield United

Micheal Chukwuebuka, Reporting

JUST three days after a dramatic seven goals thriller win at Anfield against Fulham, Liverpool, again, took all maximum points away from home on Wednesday after goals from team’s captain Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai saw off the Blades 2 – 0.

The Reds continued their blistering form in the Premier League after a horrible performance last 2022-2023 season which saw the six-time UEFA Champions League winners finishing sixth, thereby playing in the Europa League this season.

Recall that Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring in the first half before Dominik Szoboszlai, in the 94th minutes, doubled the lead for the title contender.

In a post-match interview with Liverpoolfc.com, midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai said it was a hard fight:

“It was a hard fight, everyone could see that from outside but inside it feels even tougher.

“We just did our best and in the end we could take the three points, which is the most important thing.

“We attacked together, defending together and we are fighting together; this shows how much we want it.”

Liverpool are second on the log with 34 points and just 2 points behind table topper, Arsenal.

At 12:30 p.m this Saturday, the Reds will travel to Crystal Palace as their title race continues.
