Just In: Oyo Assembly Loses Member

The lawmaker, representing Ibadan South East 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ademola Olusegun Popoola, is dead.

Popoola, 46, passed at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

It was, however, gathered that Hon. Popoola died Tuesday night at UCH after suffering from a kidney-related disease.

Stonix News reports that he had recently won a return ticket to fly the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) flag in the constituency.

Until his death, the lawmaker, popularly known as Popson, was the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
