A communication consultant and brother of the deceased, Amadosi John Mosugu, took to his Facebook page on Wednesday to accuse the Nigerian state of failing to secure his family from terrorists between 2021 and March 28, 2022 when they lost the young, promising Barr Mosugu to untimely death.

Without detailing what actually transpired in 2021, he alluded to how his family lost its fortunes and peace to insecurity and was hardly healing when last Monday’s tragedy struck.

Read his heart-wrenching lamentation:

“Nigeria failed me again!

I lost a hardworking, intelligent and lovely cousin, Tibileri Mosugu, to the terrorists attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday night.

“This is coming in just a little over 1 year that my family and I abandoned our home, lived like a refugee, until our impromptu relocation from a city that is still under terrorists hostage till today. We left behind all and never looked back.

“This past year has been a difficult moment for us, especially I, not just because of the material things and businesses left behind, as that can be recovered and would be recovered, but the shock, anxiety and trauma caused us.

“The pain of the sudden hardship and life of a refugee in our own country. The pain of experiencing this country failing us repeatedly and helplessly.

“I was healing from the hurt and getting over the bad memories. Let me just say, coming out of the depressing experience. I have started moving on, after all, are we not supposed to act strong?

“I left my not too active social media activities and only observe, in trying to heal.

Again, this marauders came again, not only to open the healing wounds but to cut right into it.

“The death of this young man, a jolly good fellow, is very hard to take. It’s hard for us a family. And for me, it’s not just bringing back those horrible depressing moments of the past year, but also hurting for losing a brother who was always there.

“Though, this country keep failing us, like you said in our encounter a few weeks ago, ” if we all leave, who will now repair the country”, we shall continue to have faith, that someday, somehow, things shall work for the best, for this nation and all of us.

Rest on brother!”
