THE Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an upward review of the fees for obtaining the Nigerian Standard Passport, effective from 1 September 2025.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, the revised charges will apply solely to applications made within Nigeria.
“The review, which only affects passport applications processed in Nigeria, has set new fee thresholds of N100,000 for the 32-page passport with five-year validity and N200,000 for the 64-page passport with ten-year validity,” the statement read.
The Service clarified that charges for Nigerians applying from overseas remain unchanged at $150 for the 32-page five-year passport and $230 for the 64-page ten-year passport.
According to the NIS, the adjustments are intended to preserve the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport while ensuring continued accessibility for citizens.
