THE management and staff of the Ondo State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Ondo State Council of Obas and the entire Third Tier of government in Ondo State has condoled with the immediate past First Lady of the state, Chief Mrs Betty Ayanwun – Akeredolu, the children and the entire Akeredolu family.
They also commiserated with the governor of the Sunshine State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, colleagues, friends, fans and the entire good people of the state.on the glorious home call of the immediate past governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.
Stonix News reports that Mr Akeredolu passed December 27, 2023 after a long battle with prostate cancer in Germany.
The ministry, in a statement signed by Oladele Adesanmi, Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, described the late fiery lawyer, as Mr “Talk and Do,” Mr “Chieftaincy,” “Jagunmolu and Amotekun General of Nigeria,” the “Conscience and Voice of the Voiceless,” the “Fearless Fighter,” “an Iconoclast” and “Human Rights Activist par excellence.”
“These are some of the views or your Supporters, Colleagues, Friends and Fans, depending on which side of the devide they look at your positive contribution to the course of humanity.
“You left the scene, when the ovation was loudest and at a time the state and nation needed you most.
“Our own dear Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to say the entire nation will miss your fearless, straight-forward, transparent, selfless and truthful leadership is an understatement as the vacuum you left will be difficult to fill.
“Good night Arakunrin; we know you will continue to live in the hearts of all your loved ones. Adieu, thou mighty man of valour!,” the condolence read.
