IRREPRESSIBLE Governor Nyesom Wike has alleged that the embattled national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu, is a very corrupt personality.
The Rivers State helmsman made the allegation openly on a two-hour special media chat on national televisions monitored by Stonix News on Friday morning in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He accused Ayu of collecting N1 billion in Lagos ahead of the 2023 general elections and challenged him to an open debate on the matter if he thinks otherwise.
“Ayu is very very corrupt. He has the opportunity to challenge me. Will he deny that he did not collect N1-billion in Lagos State?
“I can say how the money was arranged and collected,” he alleged.
On whether he could be suspended from the party, the Rivers governor dared the PDP to go ahead and face the consequences that would follow.
According to him, those who ran away cannot suspend him from the party, adding: “They should suspend me today, anything they see, they’ll see.”
He stated that although many other parties have been consulting him to defect, he would rather stay in the PDP and fight injustice, nepotism, inequality and unfairness to the end.
He accused Dr Ayu of gunning to be Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), adding that other positions had been shared among those flocking around Atiku Abubakar and Ayu.
