OPERATIVES of the Delta State Police Command have arrested an armed robbery suspect and intercepted arms and ammunition from fleeing cult/armed robbery suspects in Delta.
The suspect, Diarhe Oghenemarho, 25, from Okpara inland waterway community, Ethiope East LGA, was arrested on Thursday in a mini bus by operatives of Eagle-Net during their patrol along Oreorokpe-Sapele road.

Arms, ammunition recovered
The patrol team during a routine search, recovered a locally-made single barrel gun with five live cartridges concealed in a bag found from him in the bus.
Suspect Diarhe Oghenemarho, after interrogations, reportedly confessed that he’s a member of the notorious Eiye confraternity and that his syndicate has been terrorizing Warri and Ughelli axis.
He also reportedly confessed to be a member of an armed robbery/kidnapping gang, and that his gang leader is one David Oghotomo Mathew a.k.a “cucumber.”

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, in a statement, also disclosed that on Wednesday, ‘B’ Division Ughelli patrol team, while on anti-crime patrol along Agbarha-Ughelli Road, intercepted a Qlink motorcycle with Reg. No. SKL 554 VD with three male occupants.
While on their trail by the police, the three suspects hurriedly abandoned the motorcycle and fled into the bush, leaving behind their motorcycle and a bag.
According to DSP Edafe, when the bag was searched, one pump action gun, loaded with two live cartridges, and 49 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, were recovered along with the motorcycle.
He said further investigations and efforts to prosecute the arrested suspect and apprehend the fleeing ones were ongoing.
