ABUJA – The Nigeria Police Force has dismantled a notorious armed robbery gang and an organised child-trafficking syndicate, highlighting its commitment to safeguarding the nation.
In a breakthrough operation, police arrested 35-year-old Ogaga Dickson on 1st November 2024.

Ammunition recovered
Dickson is a key member of the gang responsible for the death of CSP Hassan Jega, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho Division, Delta State.
Jega was killed on 14th October 2024 during a fierce gun battle as he led his team to thwart a robbery.

Four gang members were neutralised, and the police seized an AK-47 rifle, an English pistol, a locally-made pistol, various ammunition, and six luxury vehicles.
In a separate operation on 2nd December 2024, police busted a child-trafficking ring led by Pastor Dayo Bernard of End Time Army Ministry, Bukuru, Plateau State.
Five abducted children, aged 2-4, were rescued, and accomplices – Rita Agboeze, Victoria Ugwu, Nanman Puntel, and Peter Ukwuani, were arrested.

Arms recovered
Bernard admitted to selling 13 children, all of whom have been recovered and reunited with their families.
In addition, police operatives, acting on the Inspector-General’s directive, have recovered 14 AK-47 rifles in a nationwide crackdown on illegal arms.
These efforts, according to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer (PPRO), reflect the police force’s unwavering resolve to combat crime and enhance national security.
