Police Operatives Arrest 9 Criminal Suspects, Recover Assault Rifles, Cartridges In Delta

The operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested nine criminal suspects and recovered two FNC assault rifles, two local guns and cartridges in Delta State.

This was contained in a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Edafe Bright and made available to Stonix News on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

DSP Bright asserted that a patrol exercise carried out by the Anti-Crime Patrol team together with Ibusa Anti-Cult Volunteers, led to the arrest of one Ekene Okonji and recovery of two live cartridges and a shot gun at about 6:00p.m Friday.

At about 1:30p.m on Saturday same week, two suspects were apprehended with two FNC rifles recovered during a raid in Ugboren Community by Policemen attached to Sapele Division and Men of the Nigerian Army, according to DSP Edafe.

Sequel to this, the statement also added that during investigation of activities along Asaba – Benin Expressway in Okpanam, Asaba, Command Raiders Operatives ambushed some suspected cultists.

On sighting the team, the suspects reportedly took to their heels, while the team chased after them and six were rounded up.

The suspects that were arrested are: Sunday Okafor Destiny, Stephen Osamota Pius and four others.
