OPERATIVES of the Delta State Police Command have nabbed two suspects who are specialists in stealing phones from tricycle passengers in Asaba, the state capital.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed in a statement that the suspects were arrested after one of their victims raised an alarm when he lost his phone to the criminals on Monday, March 25, 2024.
The victim, identified as Ezeugwu had boarded the suspects’ commercial tricycle from Konwea Plaza, Nnebisi Road, Asaba to Okpanam when he noticed that his phone was no longer with him.
The suspects, Collins Akpinoba ‘m’ age 27 and David Paulson ‘m’ age 38 were immediately chased and apprehended by a group of sympathizers and then handed over to the Police, the statement narrated.
In another development, a suspect identified as John Chikwuji was arrested after a Beretta pistol was found on him during a search and stop duty.

Operatives of the Anti-Crime patrol team Agbor Division arrested the 25-year-old suspect on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
In reaction to the arrest, the Commissioner of Delta State Police Command, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, reiterated that fighting criminals was the primary goal of the Command and warned all criminals to refrain from illegal activities or face the full wrath of the law.
He further assured that the command is making every effort to address the severe social challenges and detrimental.
