SOLOMON Sodje, a barrister at law, has felicitated the deputy speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barrister Arthur Akpowowo, on his birthday on Sunday.
In a statement made available to Stonix News on Sunday, Barrister Sodje described the Deputy Speaker as an amiable fellow as an astute member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who knows his onions well.
The scion of the Sodje dynasty also felicitated the beautiful wife of the Deputy Speaker, Mrs Francisca Ify Eguono Arthur Akpowowo, whom he said provides the Deputy Speaker “with the peaceful home front” to function maximally in the house.
“Mr Deputy Speaker, as you celebrate your birthday today, I, on behalf of my family, happily rejoice and facilitate with you and your immediate family on the this very important occasion.
“It’s now on record that your contributions to the political emancipation of the people of Ethiope East Local Government Area, your immediate constituency has propel you to become the very first time honourable member to become the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, a position usually reserve for older members of the house.
“This achievement goes to show the respect that you command in the state ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The respect that you have constantly commanded, from even during your previous position as the party’s youth leader, a position that afforded you the opportunity to understand the working of political party administration and then as a two time Hon. Commissioner in the state Ministry of Urban Renewal during the tenure of the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. (Sen) Ifeanyi Okowa, a position that enable you to gather the required knowledge of the workings of the executive arm of government.
“With these positions on your curriculum vitae together with the fact that you are a trained a Barrister and Solicitor of the Nigerian Supreme Court, it is not surprising therefore that you were considered fit and very proper for the position of Deputy Speaker in the present House of Assembly.
