Barely 24 hours after the report on students of St. Kizito’s High School, Iwopin writing their third term examination went viral, the Ogun State government has swiftly intervened.
Stonix News gathered that the state government, through the Ministry of Education, supplied desks and chairs to the school on Tuesday to the chagrin of the residents and pupils.
A statement from the St. Kizito’s High School Iwopin Alumni Association (SKHSAA) signed by the chairperson, Kabiru Abass,
sighted by Stonix News on Tuesday, affirmed the development.
The statement affirmed that the furniture were supplied by the state government on Tuesday.
“I Wish to express our gratitude to Ogun State Government on behalf of the Alumni Association of St. Kizito’s High School for coming to our rescue at the point of our needs.
“I was informed this afternoon at about 2:10p.m that Ogun State government supplied some desks and chairs to St Kizito’s High School, Iwopin today- Tuesday 19th July, 2022.
“We appreciate the state government and our governor for this prompt intervention and support.
“We look forward to more support and collaboration in the area of school renovation, ICT equipment, teaching/learning materials and teachers among others to support the over One Thousand and Three Hundred (1,300) students in St. Kizito’s High School Iwopin.
“We hope that other schools in Ogun Waterside LGA will also benefit from this special intervention,” the statement read in part.
Stonix News had reported that students of the school started their third term examination on Monday on bare floor – a development that enraged the public against the state government.
