THE University of Uyo (UNIUYO), Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has released a new memo stating that lectures are to commence on January 2, 2023.

Though the institution resumed its 2021/2022 academic session on Monday, December 5, 2022, proper academic activities are to actually commence immediately after the New Year’s celebration.

As regards the date for lecture commencement, hostel residents have been asked to vacate their abodes on or before Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
In a memo from the Students Affairs Division, dated December 1 and signed by Caroline Etteh, the authority said the evacuation, which deadline is 4:00p.m on Wednesday, was to ensure repair and maintenance works were carried out on the facilities.

The authorities however directed students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Clinical Sciences to report to the students affairs for reallocation of bed spaces at the Annex Campus.

Meanwhile, while strolling into the school premises to monitor the school activities on Monday, December 5, Stonix News observed that the campus was virtually empty, except for the scanty presence of students who were yet to complete their exams.
