THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a popular politician in Ondo State, Dr Olu Agunloye, wanted.

The former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was declared wanted for alleged corruption and forgery.

The announcement was made by the commission’s Spokesperson Dele Oyewale, and posted on the agency’s social media platforms late Tuesday.

“The public is hereby notified that Dr Olu Agunloye, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of corruption and forgery.

“Dr Olu Agunloye is wanted by the EFCC. If you know his whereabouts please don’t hesitate to inform the EFCC or the nearest police station,” the statement reads.

Agunloye, 75, is from Akoko North Local Government Area of Ondo, according to the commission.

His last known address was given as No. 20 Sold Boneh Way Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The financial commission also urged anyone with useful information on his whereabouts to contact its offices in Kano, Lagos, Kaduna, Benin, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Abuja, Ibadan, Gombe, Uyo, Maiduguri, Makurdi and Ilorin or via its official telephone lines and email.

Stonix News learnt that Agunloye had been invited for questioning over his role in the 6 billion dollars Mambila hydropower contract, which former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, had accused him of mismanaging the power project during his tenure from 1999 to 2003.

The former president also alleged that Agunloye failed to brief him on the state of the project.

However, Agunloye, as of the time he was first invited by the commission, reportedly denied the allegations.
