GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has wrecked Atiku Abubakar and grabbed victory for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the state.
Wike, one of the aggrieved G5 Governors, had severally vowed to get the Rivers electorate to vote for the party of his choice, having fallen out with his party’s (PDP) leadership.
In the final result announced Tuesday evening, APC beat LP and PDP by number of local government won and overall number of votes cast.
APC won in 14 LGAs, LP clinched 5, while PDP came third, winning just 4 LGAs.
APC and PDP won one each of the last two local government results left from collation as of Monday night.
In the biggest local government Obio/Akpor which has a total of 137,497 accredited Voters-, APC polled a total of 80,239 votes, LP, 3,829 votes and PDP 368 votes.
Curiously, total number of voided votes in the local government scored higher than LP with a total of 4,288 votes out of the total number of votes cast which stood at 91,151.
Meanwhile, the LP agent and state chairman of the party, Dienye Pepple has vehemently rejected the result.
He described the process as evil and an act of wickedness, vowing, like others, to challenge the poll in the courts.
