AN 8-year-old boy lost his life after he was shot in the chest with a high powered air rifle in the 1000 block of Pottery Lane in St. David, southern Arizona.
According to Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, deputies learned about the shooting and when they arrived at the scene, they found the young victim who had been shot in the center of his chest cavity with a high powered air rifle.
The sheriff’s office spokesperson, Carol Capas, on Wednesday, said the kind of rifle is often used for recreation, such as target shooting, and not hunting.
The boy, names withheld, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital
Stonix News reliably gathered that the shooter’s identity is known to detectives, who are preparing a report for the county attorney for possible prosecution.
