FORMER leader of Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-political group, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has prayed for the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tinubu got the endorsement on Sunday after visiting the nonagenarian’s residence in Ondo State.
Stonix News reports that there’s still four months ahead of the 2023 general elections coming up February.
The APC leader also used the opportunity of the visit to present his action plan to Fasoranti and other leaders of the group.
Tinubu had arrived at the airport in Akure earlier in the day and was received by the State’s Deputy Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, the state’s APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, and other leaders of the party in and outside Ondo.
Meanwhile, following the seeming endorsement of Tinubu’s presidential ambition by Fasoranti, a lawyer, seasoned political activist and author, Dele Farotimi, has reaffirmed Afenifere’s decision to support the presidential bid of Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
Farotimi, who’s passionate about the birth of a new and better Nigeria, in a terse statement on Sunday, said Tinubu can visit the retired leader of Afenifere “to announce that he has found his missing cows.”
He said: “I sit on the National Caucus of Afenifere, and we are unequivocal and full-throated in our endorsement of Obi.
“We have also explained the rationale behind our decision.
“Tinubu is within his right to visit Baba Fasoranti, perhaps to announce that he has found his missing cows…”
