MOST filling stations across Nigeria, especially in major cities like Lagos, PortHarcourt and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have adjusted their pump price of petrol to between N488 and N511 per litre.
Stonix News gathered Wednesday morning that NNPCL filling stations both in FCT and Lagos have adjusted their PMS pump price to N488. The newly adjusted price could also be seen at NNPC Mega Station, Lagos Bus Stop, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

A terse WhatsApp message doing the rounds reveal that NNPCL has officially issued the rate of pump price as applicable across the country based on regions and zones.
The messages read this:
“DEAR ALL. Following Management approval of the Upward review of NNPC PMS pump price as in below table for Mega/Standard/Leased Stations, Please find below schedules for the RMSs and Wayne to handle.
“Please implement meter change as approved effective today 31st May 2023. Wayne is to attend to all locations as relates to their area of coverage in our network.”
This is coming in spite of a scheduled roundtable meeting between the Federal Government and labour unions today in Abuja.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday shortly after taking his oath of office, reaffirmed the removal of fuel subsidy, saying it wasn’t captured in 2023 fiscal budget.

In less than 24 hours after the inauguration speech, fuel marketers swiftly adjusted their metres to sell PMS for N500 and above per litre.
The development has brought untold hardship on Nigerians because of the multiplier effects on goods and services.
