AS Dr (Senator) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, former Governor of Delta State and Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, turns 66, accolades have continued to pour in from across Nigeria.
Among the notable well-wishers is Delta-born political actor and associate, Solomon Sodje, who offered glowing tributes in a heartfelt birthday message.
In his congratulatory statement, Sodje described Dr Okowa as “a man who believes in achieving results and supporting persons who confront him not just with good ideas but, most especially, with superior arguments.”
He recounted his personal encounter with the former governor during his tenure in Delta State, noting that the experience left an indelible mark on his life and career.
“The memories of my encounter with Your Excellency as governor of our dear state will forever remain evergreen in my heart. I will always cherish the opportunities that Your Excellency offered me—even in the face of numerous objections from different quarters that were against Your Excellency’s good intentions towards my mission for the good of the state,” he stated.
Sodje acknowledged the former governor’s enduring influence, stating: “Your Excellency’s footprints in both Delta State and the national political landscape will forever be remembered.”
While admitting that public opinion may vary, Sodje emphasised that Dr Okowa’s integrity and focus on results remain undisputed: “No matter what some people may say about Your Excellency, Your Excellency remains a man of strong convictions who values reasoned persuasion and credible leadership.”
He concluded his message on a prayerful and optimistic note: “On behalf of my immediate family, I happily rejoice with Your Excellency. I wish Your Excellency the very best that the Almighty God can bestow upon you in the years ahead. May your cup continue to overflow as you continually overcome life’s challenges. Once again, enjoy this special day of celebration and a very BIG CONGRATULATIONS, sir.”
Stonix News reports that Dr Okowa served as Governor of Delta State from 2015 to 2023 and remains one of the state’s most prominent political figures.
