HIS Majesty, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Osun State, has declared that Yoruba culture and tradition custodian, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, is not a criminal.
The Olugbon made the assertion during a courtesy visit paid to him by Chief Igboho in his Palace at Orile Igbon.
Chief Igboho, while addressing the monarch, said he couldn’t obtain the Nigerian passport because the government, during late President Muhammadu Buhari‘s tenure, wrote to the German government that he was a criminal.
In response to Igboho’s appeal, the monarch assured him that he would write a letter to the Oni of Ife, South West Governors Forum platform and also to the Federal Government to assure them that he is not a criminal.
Oba Olusola reiterated that Igboho is a good citizen of Nigeria, adding that President Bola Tinubu should look into his matter and ensure he regains his freedom.
Concerning the proposed local vigilante group in the agenda of the Federal Government, the Olugbon of Orile Igbon recommended Sunday Igboho to head the South West region, noting that he has worked hard for the position.
He further explained that he is not making a decree, but he is pleading on Igboho’s behalf.
He advised Chief Igboho to ensure that he tried his best to protect the Yoruba land he should abide by the law and continue to be a good citizen of Nigeria.
