ONE person has been reported dead, and another injured during sporadic shootings by soldiers of the Nigerian Army in Apata, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Stonix News gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday, 4th February 2023.
Witnesses said they saw the soldiers’ vehicles pass through Brent, and all they heard were gunshots.
“Everyone ran for dear lives; some lay on the floor to prevent stray bullets,” a witnesses noted.
It was also revealed that a stray bullet hit a young man identified as Samuel, a commercial motorcyclist, who was said to have died instantly.
Another female casualty is said to be receiving treatment at Lafia Hospital in the NNPC area.
The reason for the shooting has not been disclosed yet, just as the police authorities have yet to official react.
Efforts to reach the Nigerian Police as at the time of filing this report proved abortive.
Stonix News recalled that there were pockets of protests in some parts of Ibadan on Friday over cash crunch and fuel scarcity across the country.
