Chief Ogedengbe Passes At 97, As Family Releases Funeral Programme

OKHE OSOSO, EDO STATE – The family of Hon. Chief Matthew Mofolorunsho Ogedengbe has announced the funeral and burial arrangements of their patriarch, who passed on April 13, 2025, at the ripe age of 97.

The invitation flyer obtained by Stonix News courtesy of Lt. Col. Ilesanmi Ogedengbe, has it that the funeral rites will commence on Thursday, 5th June 2025, with tomb preparations at his residence in Okhe Ososo, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

The burial programme

The ceremony will continue on Friday, 6th June, with a lying-in-state and a wake at his residence 5:00p.m.

The flyer also noted that a Funeral Mass will hold at 10:00a.m on Saturday, 7th June, at St. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church, Okhe Ososo, followed by a reception at Okunugbe Primary School, Fiele, also in Okhe Ososo.

Chief Ogedengbe, a respected elder and community leader, is remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was described by his family as “well spent.”

Mourners travelling from across the country have been provided with route guidelines from Abuja, Lagos, and Benin to Ososo, with key stops in Okene, Akure, Auchi, and Lampese, among others.
