THE Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, has directed the deployment of a tactical team to investigate an alleged viral kidnap incident making the rounds on social media.

This was contained in a statement issued by issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Edafe Bright and made available to Stonix News on Wednesday.

According to the statement, there is a viral video circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms of a young man narrating how he was allegedly kidnapped in Asaba.

It stated that though the command is aware of the video, it did not record or receive any reports of kidnapping in the Asaba metropolis, and that the testimony of the narrator is particularly disturbing.

In the same vein, the command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime Squad (SAKCCS) has also been mandated to go all out and arrest the perpetrators, while operatives of SIB have been deployed to embark on undercover policing duties and intelligence gathering.
