AN explosion at a fireworks factory in central Thailand, according to provincial officials, killed dozens of people on Wednesday.
Reports from a reliable source states that office of the Suphan Buri provincial government initially announced that 23 people had been killed in the blast, but on Wednesday night revised its figure to 19 dead and three missing.
The death toll may have increased as rescue teams at the scene said there were no survivors.
A rescue worker with the Samerkun Suphan Buri Rescue Foundation, Kritsada Manee, earlier said an exact count was difficult because the bodies were in pieces.
Stonix News reports that Suphan Buri is about 60 miles northwest of Bangkok, in the heart of Thailand’s central rice-growing region.
