How I Raped Female Student In My Office – UNILAG Lecturer

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

A lecturer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Nigeria, Dr. Kadiri Akeem Babalola, has narrated how he raped a female student in his office.

The undergraduate student was said to have approached Dr. Babalola seeking assistance with issues about her academic results.

But rather than providing the academic support, the lecturer allegedly took advantage of the vulnerable student.

The traumatised victim reported the malfeasance to the Inclusive Social Welfare and Empowerment Foundation (InclusiveSWEF), a non-governmental organisation committed to supporting victims of abuse and injustice.

Upon hearing the victim’s harrowing account, the organisation swiftly sought justice on her behalf.

The body promptly reported the case to the Gender Unit of the state police command, where the Officer in Charge of Gender, in collaboration with the state Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, issued a warrant of arrest for Dr. Kadiri Akeem Babalola through the state High Court.

The Vice Chancellor of UNILAG was also given seven days to facilitate the apprehension of the accused.

Stonix News gathered that It was during this period of intense scrutiny that Dr. Babalola reportedly confessed to the Vice Chancellor, who subsequently, informed the police leading to the lecturer’s prompt arrest.

UNILAG and the police have pledged to work diligently to ensure justice is served for the female undergraduate who did not keep the secret in wraps.
