THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has, on Saturday 4th, conducted a mock accreditation of voters to test the Bi-modal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in three states: Lagos, Abuja and Imo State.
Stonix News recalled that ahead of the general elections, chairman of the commission, Mahmood Yakubu, had announced that the exercise would take place at 436 out of the 176,846 polling units across the nation.
According to TheCable, who visited Ikeja LG in Lagos on Saturday, the exercise went smoothly at the two designated polling units in the state.
While in Abuja, although the BVAS worked well, it was reported that only few residents came out for the mock exercise.
At the post office polling unit, Area 10, Abuja, TheCable, via a post on their social media handles, confirmed that there was a low turnout of voters.
But, residents of Iho polling unit in Ikeduru LGA, Imo State, turned out in their numbers.
A community leader, Nobleiyke Edoziem, told reporters who were present at the polling unit that the process was “100 percent efficient”
