Jnr Pope: Police Recover Three More Bodies

The Marine Police of Anambra State Command has confirmed the recovery of bodies of the three remaining victims of the boat mishap that claimed the lives of Junior Pope and others.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said that two of the bodies were recovered on Thursday, while the last body was recovered on Friday.

He disclosed this in a statement made available to Stonix News on Friday, April 12, 2024.

He further stated that all the bodies have been deposited in hospital mortuary in Asaba while the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses has been notified of the recovery.

In reaction to the recovery, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye urged all water commuters to be safety conscious and avoid behaviour that may jeorpardise their safety and that of others while on transit on water.

He also promised to carry out thorough investigation into the accident that claimed lives of five actors.
