By AN early Tuesday morning fatal accident has claimed no fewer than seven persons and several others injured in Kogi State, Stonix News has exclusively gathered.
Our source said the accident involved two Toyota Hiace buses along Ogidi road in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state.
The source, who was on his way to Ogidi for the burial of an old school mate, said one of the passenger buses ran into a ditch.
He also attributed the accident to a torrential downpour that characterised the early morning along the axis.
He said on getting to the spot, he saw seven lifeless bodies littering the road and the vehicles mangled.
“Just arrived Ogidi in Ijumu LGA about 5 minutes ago..l
bless God for journey mercies.
“Witnessed an accident that claimed more than 7 lives due to the rain…,” he noted.
He added: “I saw the bodies lying down…two Toyota Hiace buses were involved…apparently from Lagos going to the north…
“One of the buses fell into a small ditch…”
The FRSC command in the state has yet to officially speak on the accident while the real identities of the victims are still shrouded in mystery.
