The operation, conducted by the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), took place on 2 March at around 1:45 pm.
Acting on credible intelligence, officers tracked down and arrested 25-year-old Stephen Oma Odu, a suspected cultist and gunrunner on the police command’s wanted list, in Sapele town.
Following his confession, the team proceeded to Oghara town, where they apprehended Tompolo, 42, at his residence.
According to Edafe, a search of his apartment led to the recovery of two pump-action guns and 24 rounds of live cartridges.
Further investigations resulted in the arrest of two additional suspects: Godspower Moses, also known as “Power,” from Kokori community, and 24-year-old Oloriode Owebe from Oghareki community.
Preliminary findings suggest all four suspects are members of the Vikings Confraternity, Edafe added.
The police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend other accomplices.
