Nigeria Vs Ghana: Work Closes 1pm At Federal Secretariat, Abuja

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

To garner enough rousing support for the Super Eagles of Nigeria to subdue the Black Stars of Ghana in the second leg of FIFA World Cup Qatar playoff Tuesday, civil servants in Abuja have been instructed to leave office by 1:00p.m.

This is contained in a circular dated March 28 and signed by the Permanent Secretary (Service Welfare Office), Dr. Ngozi Onwudiwe, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Dr Onwudiwe, in the circular sighted by Stonix News, further directed permanent secretaries to give the circular a wide publicity as a way of mobilising the workers in support of the Super Eagles.

The circular, which copies were made available to relevant ministries, read in part:

“As you are aware, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be meeting the Black Stars of Ghana in continuation of the 2022 FIFA World-Cup Qualifier, Playoff, (Return Leg).

“There is a need to mobilise support for the Nigerian Team.

“Consequently, I am directed to inform you that all offices will be closed at 1.00pm on Tuesday, 29th March, 2022.

“Permanent Secretaries are requested to give this circular wide publicity to achieve the desired result.”

The second-leg match between the two eternal rivals holds Tuesday March 29 at 6:00p.m at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
