THE Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has expressed deep shock over the passing of its former State Treasurer, Comrade Mrs. Joy Mordi.
Chairman and secretary, Comrade Churchill Oyowe and Comrade Victor Sorokwu, in a condolence statement on Monday, extolled the motherly attributes of the deceased who marked her birthday a fortnight ago.

Mrs Joy Mordi
“Until her passage, Comrade Joy Mordi was a founding leader of the Grassroots Observer Chapel, erstwhile Local Government Information Chapel.
“We are, indeed, short of words to describe the feelings of the moment, having joined her in the celebration of her birthday a fortnight ago.
“Known for her motherly and caring disposition and passionate involvement in union activities, Comrade Joy Mordi led the Local Government Information Chapel as Chairman for two terms, before her election into the State Council for another two terms.

“In fact, her contributions to the NUJ Delta Council cannot be forgotten, especially at the Grassroots Observer Chapel, where she held sway.
“We are consoled by the fact that she left indelible footprints on the sands of impactful life and times, touching on her loving husband, children, family, colleagues and church; she was indeed a true Lady of the Knighthood.
“We pray the Merciful Lord to grant the immediate family the fortitude to bear a rather irreparable loss and to receive her gentle soul in His Bosom till Resurrection Morning,” the statement read in part.
Stonix News gathered that Lady Mordi passed Sunday evening.
