Bishop Oyedepo at the scene
A yet-to-be-identified man reportedly assaulted the Presiding Bishop of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo while preaching on the pulpit.
The sacrilegious incident occurred at Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Sango Otta, Ogun State, a fortnight ago before the 2021 Shiloh started.
The strange man, PM News had reported, was able to beat the security network, ascended the altar and grabbed the bishop in the leg.
The intruder was said to have entered through the Love Wing entrance of the church and tactically access the altar while the cleric was preaching.
There was an alleged security lapse as the huge crowd at the Fourth Service of two Sundays ago before Shiloh saw the strange man in white suit, headed for the altar.
A video footage obtained by PM NEWS showed the man holding the Bishop on one of his legs and was dragging him, trying to pull him down before the swift intervention of security officers.
The report says the security men and some leaders on the altar, including Oyedepo’s son, David, had to forcefully yank the intruder off the man of God.
The man was reportedly bundled out of the church and was allegedly given the beating of his life by the security operatives.
Stonix News gathered that after the ugly incident, the security apparatus around the bishop had been restructured in the church.
The intention of the intruder could not be ascertained as of the time of filing the report.
